As A Mom

Two weeks ago, I was very inspired by the Freedom Friday Article that suggested taking a “Financial Fast.” See the article at: http://asamom.ning.com/profiles/blogs/freedom-friday-jan-22-2010 In fact, I was so inspired by this article that in our family meeting last night we decided that, for the month of February, we were going do a “Financial Fast.” After a bit of negotiation, we did decide to allow a small expenditure for Valentine’s Day- the kids conned me using flowers. I am looking forward to learning how our family spends. I invite you to join me on your own “Financial Fast.”

What would it be like if the nation did a financial fast? This would be to show wise stewardship over what substance we have. How many of us spend money foolishly? How many of us are closed fisted when it comes to helping others? How many of us are open handed so the law of the harvest principles can multiply our comings and our goings?

The Lord has commanded us to take care of the widows and the fatherless as well as the poor, how many of us are using our substance open handed to do what we were commanded to do.
Do we have to be stripped of our substance because of our pridefulness and unwillingness to do as we are commanded to do?

Will there be a day come in the Millineum that we will have the playing field leveled so the pride of the people will become as naught? I believe so. Let us be grateful and satisfied for what substance we have by showing the Lord that we are responsible with what gifts He has given us!
