Herman Cain Is In The Presidential Race!



Well, Cain did it today. He threw his hat into the ring. He comes to us by popular demand. You ask people who they thought won the debate in South Carolina, and they will say Herman Cain! And, of those who had a favorite candidate before the debate, the majority will say they changed their "fav" after they heard Cain speak.

After Herman Cain appeared at CPAC, he was viciously attacked by the "Left". They must see something in him that they fear or they would not waste their time on him.

Here are two videos of Herman Cain. The first one is Sean Hannity and Juan Williams discussing the wicked attack on Cain from Progressives and the second is Cain's speech at CPAC, for which he was lavishly praised.

Liberals have no shame! Conservatives would never think of getting away with this type of garbage talk, but for some reason, the rules are always different when Liberals do it.

These mean-spirited people think all is fair in politics and there's no boundary they won't cross to get what they want--even something as discusting as this.






Herman Cain is best known for running the God Father's Pizza chain, has hosted a talk radio show, and had the nerve to spar with Bill Clinton over health care.

So what if Cain has never held an elected office? We don't want more Career Politicians any way, we've had enough of them! The tea party loves him too and he may be their favorite choice for president.

"In case you accidentally listen to a skeptic or doubting Thomas out there, just to be clear ... I'm running for president of the United States, and I'm not running for second," he said to a crowd gathering at Centennial Olympic Park today, Chants of "Herman" could be heard coming from the crowd of thousands in downtown Atlanta.

This announcement today came after months of traveling around the country to introduce himself to voters. Now let's see if this 65-year-old business owner and talk show host can tap into the grass-roots enthusiasm and turn this campaign into a worthy foe that will give Obama a run for his money! I think he can do it!

Cain's platform is as follows:

• He is for a strong national defence
• He opposes abortion
• He backs replacing the federal income tax with a national sales tax (what would the IRS so?)
• And he favors a return to the gold standard.

Are these issues those you can support? If so, perhaps you will consider him when you cast your vote.

Cain said it right when he proclaimed President Barack Obama "threw Israel under the bus because he sought to base Mideast border talks partly on the pre-1967 war lines, and criticized the Justice Department for challenging Arizona's tough crackdown on illegal immigration...We shouldn't be suing Arizona," he said to cheers. Interesting facts that you may not know about Herman Cain:

• Cain was known by the name "Hermanator" when he lost in the Georgia 2004 U.S. Senate primary, with one-quarter of the vote in a Republican three-way race.
• His political action committee has taken in just over $16,000 this year.
• He says he's running "a bottoms-up, outside-the-box campaign." He's right!
• Supporters likes his plain-speaking approach to the issues. People can understand him when he talks.
• Cain was born in Memphis, Tenn., raised in Atlanta, and the son of a chauffeur and a maid.
• He attended black Morehouse College, earned a master's degree from Purdue University and worked as a mathematician for the Navy before he became a corporate big-shot.
• He worked at Coca-Cola, Pillsbury and Burger King before "taking the helm of the failing Godfather's Pizza franchise, which he rescued by shuttering hundreds of restaurants".
• His political views brought him attention when he argued with President Clinton over the Democrat's health care plan at a 1994 town hall meeting. Did you see it?
  

  "On behalf of all of those business owners that are in a situation similar to mine," asked Cain, "my question is, quite simply, if I'm forced to do this, what will I tell those people whose jobs I will have to eliminate?"

• Cain was once described by the late Jack Kemp, the GOP vice presidential nominee in 1996, as having "the voice of Othello, the looks of a football player, the English of Oxfordian quality and the courage of a lion."
• Cain was diagnosed with liver and colon cancer in 2006 (he is cancer free now), and credits the nation's quality health care system with keeping him alive. He says it's one reason he's so opposed to the health overhaul by Obama.

Cain said 'the American dream is under attack from runaway debt, a stagnant economy, a muddled foreign policy and an influx of illegal immigrants". He said Americans should be infuriated because the Obama administration's $787 billion stimulus program "didn't stimulate diddly."

"It's time to get real, folks. Hope and change ain't working," he said. "Hope and change is not a solution. Hope and change is not a job."

This is the kind of candidate that I can vote for, can you?

34,448 Illegal Immigrants Spared Deportation

Janet Napolitano lied to a Senate committee to cover up the astounding figure.

In a perplexing development ignored by the mainstream media, the Obama Administration suspended tens of thousands of deportations last year and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano lied to a Senate committee to cover up the astounding figure.

Napolitano told the Senate Judiciary Committee that has oversight over the Department of  Homeland Security that her agency halted the deportation of only 900 illegal immigrants in fiscal year 2010. She did admit that the figure could be higher because it excludes “deferred action” granted to illegal immigrants for “humanitarian” reasons.

Not surprisingly, Madame Secretary never indicated how much higher the figure could be, which may lead many to conclude that she purposely deceived federal lawmakers. It turns out that the Obama Administration halted the deportation of 34,448 illegal immigrants last year, according to Homeland Security figures obtained independently by a Senator (Charles Grassley of Iowa) who sits on the Judiciary Committee.

After the Senate hearing, which took place last month in Washington D.C., Napolitano’s own staff corrected her atrocious lie, according to Senator Grassley’s press secretary, who provided Judicial Watch with the accurate number. According to Homeland Security figures provided to Senator Grassley’s staff, the combined deferred action and paroles of illegal immigrants in 2010 amounted to 34,448.

This appears to be part of the administration’s secret amnesty plan in case Congress doesn’t pass legislation to legalize the nation’s 12 million illegal immigrants. Devised by political appointees at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the plan aims to enact “meaningful immigration reform absent legislative action.”

This includes delaying deportation indefinitely (“deferred action”), granting green cards, allowing illegal immigrants to remain in the U.S. indefinitely while they seek legal status (known as “parole in place”) and expanding the definition of “extreme hardships” so any illegal alien could meet the criteria and remain in the country.

Last summer the Obama Administration ordered authorities to stop removing illegal immigrants who are students while lawmakers craft legislation to officially shield them from expulsion. The move, which has spared an estimated 700,000 illegal aliens, came in response to nationwide rallies by defiant illegal immigrants protesting their eminent removal or that of their undocumented parents.

Judicial Watch has sued the Department of Homeland Security to obtain records detailing the stealth amnesty plan because the agency has ignored a federal public records request that dates back to July 2010.

Happy Mothers Day - With a Bit of History

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there. I hope the day is joyous. We don't need gifts and stuff, we just need our children and husbands to appreciate us and to tell us they love us. We also want them to show us they love us by the way they act on this special day set aside for moms.

Dave did a beautiful post on Mother's Day that I want to share with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you Dave for your thoughtfulness.

My mom is so sweet, and loving, everyone who knows her is surely blessed. She is a comic genius, a political brain, an awesome cook, a kind friend, a caring Grandma...not to mention a jazz artist, painter, poet and local radio personality. But to me, she is mom, my loving sweet and caring mom!!

I thought it might be interesting to look at a little history of Mothers Day... Let's go!

Mother's Day, like so many holidays is very old and the earliest Mother's Day celebrations seemingly come from ancient Greece.

Though the meaning and celebration have over the eons changed from the way we celebrate now.

In the 1600's, early English Christians celebrated a day to honor Mary, Christ's Mother. Later it was expanded to include all Mothers and celebrated on the 4th Sunday of Lent and titled "Mothering Sunday" to honor all the mothers of England. At this time England's poorest worked as servants for the wealthy. As most jobs were located far from their homes, servants lived at the houses of their employers. On Mothering Sunday, servants were given the day off and encouraged to return home to spend the day with their mothers. A special mothering cake, was often brought along to provide a festive touch. Over time, this tradition slowly became forgotten.

In the United States, Mother's Day was loosely inspired by the British day and was first suggested after the American Civil War by Julia Ward Howe. Howe (who wrote the words to the Battle hymn of the Republic) was horrified by the carnage of the Civil War and the Franco-Prussian War and so, in 1870, she tried to issue a manifesto for peace at international peace conferences in London and Paris (it was much like the later Mother's Day Peace Proclamation).

During the Franco-Prussian war in the 1870s, Julia began a one-woman peace crusade and made an impassioned "appeal to womanhood" to rise against war. She composed in Boston a powerful plea that same year (generally considered to be the original Mothers' Day proclamation*) translated it into several languages and distributed it widely. In 1872, she went to London to promote an international Woman's Peace Congress. She began promoting the idea of a "Mother's Day for Peace" to be celebrated on June 2, honoring peace, motherhood and womanhood. In the Boston Mass, she initiated a Mothers' Peace Day observance on the second Sunday in June, a practice that was to be established as an annual event and practiced for at least 10 years.

The day was, however, mainly intended as a call to unite women against war. It was due to her efforts that in 1873, women in 18 cities in America held a Mother's Day for Pace gathering. Howe rigorously championed the cause of official celebration of Mothers Day and declaration of official holiday on the day. She held meetings every year at Boston on Mother's Peace Day and took care that the day was well-observed. The celebrations died out when she turned her efforts to working for peace and women's rights in other ways. Howe failed in her attempt to get the formal recognition of a Mother's Day for Peace. Her remarkable contribution in the establishment of Mother's Day, however, remains in the fact that she organized a Mother's Day dedicated to peace. It is a landmark in the history of Mother's Day in the sense that this was to be the precursor to the modern Mother's Day celebrations. To acknowledge Howe's achievements a stamp was issued in her honor in 1988.

It should be well to remember that Howe's idea was influenced by Ann Marie Reeves Jarvis, a young Appalachian homemaker who, starting in 1858, had attempted to improve sanitation through what she called "Mothers Friendship Day". In the 1900's, at a time when most women devoted their time solely on their family and homes, Jarvis was working to assist in the healing of the nation after the Civil War. She organized women throughout the Civil War to work for better sanitary conditions for both sides and in 1868 she began work to reconcile Union and Confederate neighbors. Ann was instrumental in saving thousands of lives by teaching women in her Mothers Friendship Clubs the basics of nursing and sanitation which she had learned from her famous physician brother James Reeves, M.D. In parts of the United States it was customary to plant tomatoes outdoors after Mother's Work Days (and not before).

It was Jarvis' daughter, Anna Jarvis, who finally succeeded in introducing Mother's Day in the sense as we celebrate it today. Anna graduated from the Female Seminary in Wheeling and taught in Grafton for a while. Later she moved to Philadelphia with her family. Anna had spent many years looking after her ailing mother. This is why she preferred to remain a spinster. When her mother died in Philadelphia on May 9, 1905, Anna missed her greatly. So did her sister Elsinore whom she looked after as well. Anna felt children often neglected to appreciate their mother enough while the mother was still alive. Now, she intended to start a Mother's Day, as an honoring of the mothers. In 1907, two years after her mother's death, Anna Jarvis disclosed her intention to her friends who supported her cause wholeheartedly. So supported by her friends, Anna decided to dedicate her life to her mother's cause and to establish Mother's Day to "honor mothers, living and dead." She started the campaign to establish a national Mother's Day. With her friends, she started a letter-writing campaign to urge ministers, businessmen and congressmen in declaring a national Mother's Day holiday. She hoped Mother's Day would increase respect for parents and strengthen family bonds.

As a result of her efforts the first mother's day was observed on May 10, 1908, by a church service honoring Late Mrs. Reese Jarvis, in the Andrews Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia, where she spent 20 years taking Sunday school classes. Grafton is the home to the International Mother's Day Shrine. Another service was also conducted on the same date in Philadelphia where Mrs. Jarvis died, leaving her two daughters Anna and Elsinore. So it was more of an homage service for Mrs. Reeves Jarvis than a general one conducted in honor of motherhood. Nevertheless, this set the stage for the later Mother's Day observances held in the honor of motherhood.

From there, the custom caught on -- spreading eventually to 45 states. The first Mother's Day proclamation was issued by the governor of West Virginia in 1910. Oklahoma celebrated it in that same year. It stirred the same way in as far west as the state of Washington. And by 1911 there was not a state in the Union that did not have its own observances for Mother's Day. Soon it crossed the national boundary, as people in Mexico, Canada, South America, China, Japan and Africa all joined the spree to celebrate a day for mother love.

The House of Representatives in May 1913 unanimously adopted a resolution requesting the President, his cabinet, the members of both Houses and all officials of the federal government to wear a white carnation on Mother's Day. On May 7,1914, a resolution providing that the second Sunday in May be designated Mother's Day was introduced by Representative James T. Heflin of Alabama and Senator Morris Sheppard of Texas. It passed both Houses on May 9, 1914.

In 1934 Postmaster General James A. Farley announced a stamp to commemorate Mother's Day. The stamp featured this famous painting.

The painting was a portrait of the mother of James Abbott McNeill Whistler, an English artist. It was brought into the United States as part of an exhibit in the year 1934.

Regardless of the pros and cons of the commercialization of this day, Mother's Day continues to be one of the most commercially successful U.S. occasions. According to the National Restaurant Association, Mother's Day is now the most popular day of the year to dine out at a restaurant in the United States. The occasion is now celebrated not so much with flags as with gifts, cards, hugs, thank you's and other tokens of affection. While many countries of the world celebrate their own Mother's Day on different days and at different times throughout the year, there are some countries such as Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia, and Belgium which also celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May. In some countries, the appreciation lasts for two days.

This is one day, we can all get behind someone... Mom, we love you!

U.S. Is In The Gun Trafficking Business

Did you see on the National News last week that the ATF (Department of Alcohol, Tabacco, and Firearms) was caught breaking the law?

Apparently gun shop owners, who called in suspicious orders, were told by ATF to complete the sale anyway. The problem is those sales were illegal. They claimed they needed to track the weapons to see where they went. Did they go into Mexico and  to drug cartel? Were they stock-piled by some radical group?

The real truth is that ATF is in the business of  gun trafficking. By flooding the market with tons of weapons entering Mexico, they could report that 90% are coming from America.  That way they can pass laws to control weapons going across the border. Doesn't this just sound like something's rotten in Washington? It adds one more layer to the level of corruption in the Obama administration.

What are your thoughts about this report? Do you think Holder should be responsible for this sting?

Do you see the evil plan to take away our guns? Why do they want our guns so badly? My husband said that he heard on the radio that there are enough hunters with guns in just two states to be the larges civilian army. What would happen if these people decided to take their guns and launch a revolution? And then you add other states like Texas and Montana and what do you get?

The can be only one reason for Congress and the White House to be working so hard to take away our guns, and for the United Nations being given the right to make U.S. citizens to register guns and ammo with them, and that has to be to disarm us.

Why do they want to disarm us? Well, let's see? Could the American Revolution ever take place if they did not have weapons?

Could the Wild West be tamed without weapons?

How else were settlers going to hunt for food and protect themselves without guns?

Perhaps we have the same reasons to won guns ourselves, especially people want to bring about One World Order and dissolve the Constitution, a collapse of the dollar, and the chaos resulting from it. I see rioting in the streets and people trying to steal what we have just to eat. It could be like the Old Wild West again.
